Disinfection

VOS | Evatec is european agent for Hansun UV and silver sterilisers. UV and silver sterilisation is needed during storage and transport of drinking water. Hazardous bacteria may develop in the water, storage tanks or pipes; for this reason, VOS | Evatec can supply you with UV sterilisers, silver sterilisers and chlorine dosing systems.

UV disinfection

In a UV disinfection system, water is exposed to a high dose of UV light for a short period of time, by means of a number of UV lamps. However, this method does have its shortcomings: the effect of the UV treatment starts to decline right after the treatment finishes.

Silver sterilising

In a silver sterilising-unit, drinking water is exposed to small silver particles. Silver is known for its natural sterilising and deodorising functions, and will kill any bacteria en virii present in the water. The big advantage of silver is that it will remain in the water after treatment, allowing for a long-lasting effect.

Chlorine dosing

While dosing chlorine into drinking water is a sufficient method for killing bacteria, this particular method meets with increasingly more difficulties as it gives the water a bad odor and taste.
