Evaporation Units

VOS | Evatec has developed its own series of seawater evaporators and provides these units to shipping- and offshore-industries under the name of EVAP.

Their robust construction sets the EVAP seawater evaporators apart from the competition; they are fully constructed out of seawater resistent stainless steel, without using a coating. The corrosion-free shell ensures a long lifetime of producing fresh water. Furthermore, the copper tubing and plates provide very good protection against viruses, as the copper will kill these organisms on contact.

By using pipes in the heat exchanger and condensor, a large heating surface is obtained. The heating surface is much more effective than titanium plates, as plate type evaporators needs more plates and a bigger surface to achieve the same effect as our tube type evaporators.

Given their high reliability and low maintenance/spare parts costs, our evaporators are simply the best solution for producing freshwater from seawater. Furthermore, it is also possible to build our units in combination with disinfecting equipment.
